Buffalo Grove, IL (August 26, 2015) - Andrew Longe competed in three races in his Trianon Hotels/ Fall-Line Motorsports Porsche last weekend at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama. Rounds 11 and 12 were regularly scheduled and Round 4 was run as a makeup race for a previously postponed event from earlier in the season. Longe came home with three top-five results albeit a little controversy is still surrounding the Round 4 result. He captured fourth place in Round 11 and fifth place in Round 12. The third race of the weekend (Round 4) was looking strong as well with a third place finish but a penalty for contact on the last lap of the race dropped us out of the top three.
The 21-year old from Naples, Florida sits in fourth place in driver standings just seven points out of third. With four races remaining in the 2015 season at C
ircuit of the Americas and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, the potential to finish in the top-three in his Rookie season of the series is very possible and a goal of both Longe and the Fall-Line team.
#47 Trianon Hotels/ Fall-Line Motorsports Porsche GT3 Cup:
Andrew Longe: "We had a great weekend at Virginia International Raceway in the Trianon/ Fall-Line Motorsports Porsche! This has been a learning year for me and we continue to carry the momentum we build each weekend and the results continue to show the team's and my hard work and determination. We continue to achieve the goals we set each weekend to develop myself as a driver and I guarantee a win is in our near future. Thank you so much to everyone involved on the Fall-Line Motorsports team for another great weekend, without them I would not be where I am today."
Michael Harvey, Fall-Line Motorsports Team Manager: "I am so very proud of the Trianon Hotels/ Fall-Line Motorsports team and, with three very strong races at VIR by Andrew. He continues to grow and mature as a driver. An unfortunate incident at the start of race 1 produced a stirring drive through the field with some extremely fast, consistent laps. Race 2 produced a very solid and mature drive and Race 3 was a lesson in extreme pressure for an extended period. A great weekend with solid points which allowed us to move from 5th to 4th in overall points. We now look forward to COTA and continuing the learning curve as we strive to get to that first victory."
