Fall-Line Motorsports Pre New Jersey Updates
April 29, 2009
Fall-line Motorsports has been busy since round 2 of the Koni Sportscar Challenge series back in mid March. The team has worked hard to improve the chassis on their V8 Powered GS Class 2008 BMW M3. A two-day test only two weeks ago provided a lot of information and a better baseline set up for the two-race-old #28 car. It should provide a good start for the upcoming race weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
“We worked on a lot of baseline stuff that we had previously not had the time to do,” said driver and team principle, Steve Jenkins. “We ran the gamut on the possible set ups, from way too stiff to really soft on bars, springs and shocks. I think we have a much better idea of what the car wants now.”
“We are hoping to improve on our already strong start to the season,” continued Jenkins. “We had essentially completed two solid top tens in the first two races of the season, running solidly in 9th at Daytona with only a few laps left, and our 6th place finish at Homestead. We are very excited about our team's improvements over last year.”
In addition to the hard work the team has been doing on the equipment, both Jenkins and co-driver Mark Boden have embarked on a vigorous fitness regime, which has been very beneficial to both drivers, both in and out of the car.
“Steve started working out late last summer, and his improvement behind the wheel was immediately noticeable,” said Boden. “I was unable to fit it into my schedule regularly, with a business to run, racing, and a family, until recently. I feel a lot better already, and am looking forward to seeing how much it helps me in the car.”
Fall-Line is happy to have quality partners for the 2009 season in HRE Performance Wheels, B.R.M Chronograph, Original BMW Parts, Dinan Power, and Sparco. “At Fall-Line, we select our partners carefully, as we have a reputation for meticulously built cars, and we think our partners' quality should be every bit as good as ours,” said Jenkins. “HRE makes an unbelievably nice wheel, and these BRM watches are just awesome! Stop by our trailer or shop to see either anytime!” As always, the team is still looking for more partners to facilitate a complete season in 2009!
The Fall-line Customer Support Team has also been busy at the shop building more cars for customers, one of which will accompany the #28 car to Laguna Seca later this month, with a new driver behind the wheel. The team has also been busy with track support for our large club racing customer base. The team had a successful weekend of NASA endurance racing and SCCA club racing just last weekend, supporting 10 cars at 2 venues and going back at it again this weekend.
